Data CRT is a small, growing consulting firm, specializing in understanding complex data problems, building infrastructure to support analyzing those problems, and communicating clear insights to our clients based on the outcome of technical analyses.

We are seeking a data engineer to join our practice. In this role, you will be responsible for data modeling, building data transformations, implementing data platforms, and data testing and documentation.

Our projects include a wide variety of data challenges, for example: building data warehouses from the ground up, putting testing and alerting systems in place, and supporting modeling work to optimize marketing spend. We work with series A startups through large, post-IPO organizations. We have clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including insurance, healthcare, HR, and artificial intelligence, giving our engineers an opportunity to work across a variety of industries as each week brings something new.

Our clients hire us to tackle their most challenging data problems, and you will often be using cutting-edge tools to solve these problems across industries. Quality is a core component of our work, as that quality helps us to build and maintain strong client relationships; we are looking for a data engineer who shares these values.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Enjoy thinking quantitatively
  • Approach data skeptically, including testing assumptions and using statistical methods to quantify uncertainty
  • Engage with others at a technical and strategic level appropriate to their background
  • Be organized, without being fixated on organization for organization’s sake
  • Be able to zoom in on specific details on a project when relevant, and know when to take a step back and reevaluate the big picture
  • Want to write clear, organized code and contribute to shared projects using git
  • Feel comfortable participating in and improving our quality control procedures
  • Be able to produce clear and intuitive data visualizations
  • Feel comfortable “wearing many hats” and learning new tools and techniques
  • Have experience managing people and projects
  • Have at least 2 years experience working with data
  • Benefits:

  • We offer high compensation and a truly flexible schedule and location for people who deliver excellent work
  • We actively set aside time for professional development and community engagement
  • Health insurance (including dental and vision) and 401(k) plan offered to all employees
